About the Job:

The Saxo Experience Office is a division within Saxo Bank who is responsible for a wide range of activities from Marketing, internal and external communication, Digital Client Engagement, Big data & AI, developing and maintaining our trading and investment platforms, Business Development as well as understanding our clients & partner needs and setting the appropriate strategy to deliver on these.

To support the SXO division we are looking for a Non-Financial Risk Champion to help identify and support the implementation of the necessary first line operational risk management capabilities to safeguard our clients and Saxo Banks interest as well as optimizing our processes, continuously assessing our risk exposures and facilitate an increased risk awareness and risk culture amongst teams and colleagues.

The position is brand new so this is a role for a self-driven, patient but determined candidate.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the risk-control activities in their areas. One Risk Champion may cover multiple departments, in agreement with the leaders of each department.
• Acts as the liaison between the First and Second Line regarding changes and implementation of the NFRM activities.
• Helps arranging appropriate communication channels between First and Second Line.
• Supports with education of SXO colleagues regarding NFRM framework and processes, how to apply them correctly to the business activities.
• Ensures that the required NFRM data and information in the GRC tooling is kept complete and up to date for SXO.
• Coordinates the execution of the NFRM cycle (e.g., risk assessments, controls monitoring, reporting to committees).
• Ensures that there are clear risk mitigation strategies in place and that the functions are operating as an effective First Line.
• Oversees and delivers operational risk management information that can be used to track performance and spot potential risk gaps within the SXO area.
• Ensures oversight of Risk Events, analysis of root causes, patterns identified, validation of all corrective actions.
• Coordinates and ensures that Business Continuity Plans (BCP) are in place and work in accordance with the business model. Conducts BCP training for the Senior SXO Management group.
• Develops effective working relationships with all stakeholders internally within the Bank and externally.
• Drives, promote and monitor continuous improvement in the Risk Culture across the SXO area.
• Monitors and tracks all Audit requirements (both internal & external) ensuring that all stakeholders complete accurately and within the defined time scales.

Your Profile :

Skills and knowledge

  • Has good knowledge and understanding of Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) framework and processes. The Risk Champion will receive adequate training on the job and support by Second Line, to ensure a safe landing and continued success in the role.
  • Has strong communication, collaboration and social skills, is able to connect colleagues from different disciplines and backgrounds, capable of influencing decisions and bringing messages with the appropriate tone.
  • Has good understanding of the business processes in SXO, where responsibilities lie, what the risks are and how risks are being mitigated. This knowledge will grow over time once the role is established.
  • Is acquainted with relevant (local) law and regulations applicable for the SXO area.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably from a financial institution.
  • Experienced with risk management processes.
