About the Job:

Saxo is looking to expand its current service offering for Tax. In addition to the existing core services like transaction taxes, withholding tax, tax reporting including IRS 871(m), 1042-S, Financial Transaction Taxes and Stamp Taxes there are supplementary services that our clients are seeking including Tax Reclaims and Relief at Source. This multi-faceted global role supports multiple cross-regional entities based within different tax jurisdictions and therefore requires the candidate to evaluate existing operational tax processes / procedures and scrutinise / evaluate the impact of worldwide regulatory and legislative changes alongside new business proposals and product launches to influence the implementation of change. The candidate will be driven to provide consistently high standards business requirement documents, keen to identify and resolve issues within the value chain of the project or enhancement, will challenge existing processes and controls whilst working with cross functional operations teams to implement operational improvements.

Competency Skills:
The successful candidate will preferably:
• Create Business Processes, Requirement Specifications, Business Process Flow diagrams, and charts to provide direction to IT Business Analysts or System Programmers.
• Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new projects, and enhancements to existing applications specifics to Transactional Taxes, Withholding Tax, Capital Gains taxes.
• Have a strong understanding of transactional tax including market rules and regulations as they impact processes
• Conduct research on existing application handling, Learn from data to justify recommendations and to support solution decisions.
• Have the ability to read, understand and relay tax regulations
• Have the ability to be analytical, problem solve with good attention to detail with a record of identifying and dealing with issues as they arise
• Partner with Operations and IT to formulate the business flows and requirements to help build out the Operations capabilities to enhance the existing offerings as well as new services
• Be motivated, self-driven and excited by an operational role with changing priorities and objectives often with tight deadlines
• Possess strong team working skills, willing to put forward ideas and challenge current practice
• Be a strong communicator with good organization skills as it will involve communicating to a large variety of people at many different levels within the firm
• Although the position will not involve having direct reports, the candidate will be liaising regularly with a number of internal and external parties.

Your Profile :

The successful candidate will preferably:

  • Provide cross Operational and Business Unit tax support in regard to operational taxes hence knowledge of the banking sector and ideally experience of working in an operational tax environment or supporting operational tax from a tax technical perspective
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Stamp Duty and Transaction Taxes and how they impact operational processing and infrastructure
  • Technical tax knowledge of transactional taxes (e.g. Italian and French Transaction Taxes, UK SDRT, Irish Stamp Duty or Swiss Stamp Tax)
  • Monitor and review tax policy/regulatory changes that affect current tax processes and effectively communicate the operational tax implications to the various key stakeholders
  • Work with external tax advisors to interpret legislation, provide steer on operational implementation and partner with various Operational teams and Business areas on actual implementation
  • Create and document operational tax requirements, policies and standard procedures to ensure tax compliance
  • Work effectively across geographical and functional boundaries demonstrating strong relationship skills
  • Use inquisitive mind set to identify control weakness, mitigate risk, and improve current processes, procedures and reports including automation of manual processes
  • Provide oversight from an SME perspective on processing related queries and exceptions working closely with the Operations team in India to ensure delivery in a timely manner
  • Assist in the set up and maintenance of tax rules in the CA processing systems
  • Support Regulatory Reporting
  • Monitor tax legislation – anticipate changes and implement relevant procedures and controls
  • Product Development - assist on the product development design, testing and documentation
  • Partner with Operations and IT to formulate the business flows and requirements to help build out Operations capabilities to enhance the existing offerings as well as new services
  • Gain a exposure and comprehensive understanding of multiple business lines, divisions and groups across the firm – Finance, Technology, Securities Trading and Operations.
  • Assist Network Management with account opening, tax documentation and oversight of Custodian Migrations – either global to local or new custodial relationships – defining requirements and service levels.
