INFINOX is seeking a Technology Networks and DevOps Engineer to support the wider Technology team.

The company is looking for someone who is able to multitask, has strong problem solving DevOps skills, is self-motivated and excited by the diverse range of opportunities and challenges in the Cloud. We are looking for an individual with the dynamism and proactiveness required to help grow this important area of the business.

The Technology Networks and DevOps Engineer will report to the Head of Technology Production and work with other internal and external DevOps teams within the wider INFINOX Technology team, acting as an important conduit and strategy deliverer for the Chief Technical Officer.

The Technology Networks and DevOps Engineer will coordinate with their team to resolve all Networks and DevOps related issues within required timeframes and recommend appropriate changes to all policies and procedures (including security) and evaluate all implementations.

 

Overview of the Key Objectives of the Position:

 

The key objectives include:

 

  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update and support processes for DevOps operation.
  • Setting up Network tools and required infrastructure.
  • Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
  • Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs.
  • Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimising the wastage.
  • Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible.
  • Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
  • Incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Coordination and communication within the team and with customers.
  • Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
  • Mentoring and guiding the team members.
  • Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs.
  • Managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management and the customer.
  • Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs.
  • Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
  • Planning the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
  • Managing stakeholders and external interfaces.

 

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Cloud based Infrastructure custodian and key contact for Technology Infrastructure.
  • Network specialist and managing firewalls, VPNs, Proxy Servers and DNS registrars.
  • Good governance and documentation, focussing on topology and security review and best practices.
  • Excellent up time reporting on all Technology stack applications and platforms.
  • Scalability, Cost Optimization, Security.
  • Incident Management

 

Experience and Requirements

Essential

  • Experience working on Linux based infrastructure.
  • Experience in Windows based Infrastructure.
  • Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
  • Experience on AWS and GCP Cloud platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and Jenkins deployments.
  • Experience with Cloudflare or F5, Paulo Alto or other network systems from Layer 1 to Layer 7
  • Excellent understanding of Python, Java and PHP.
  • Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and support skills in keeping with that of a 3rd Tier Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies and cloud services.

 

Desirable

  • 2 or more years a DevOps, Network or Infrastructure role.
  • Technical qualifications supporting the role from recognized authorities.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Docker Certified Associate.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification.
