About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Management, the hybrid role of PMO Governance & Release Manager will focus on responsibilities aligned to that of of PMO Governance Lead as well as Release Engineering. The position will offer quite a bit of flexibility to work from home as part of Finastra's hybrid working model.
What you'll do:
Manage Intake
Manage Canada Student Financial Assistance Professional Services including project intake process
Manage non-CSFA PS & BAU Intake process
Lead weekly review meetings
Coordinate gathering of estimates
Initial verification that estimates are complete and correct (no obvious gaps or errors)
Ensure that overall process is effective, efficient and meets stakeholder expectations.
Manage Time Tracking:
monitor compliance,
support new project setup requests (should come from PMs)
support new resource setup requests (should come from RMs)
monthly summary reports and related rolled-up metrics
Manage Resource Allocation/Utilization Forecasts & RoadMaps
Synchronize with Intake incoming projects
Work with Resource Managers to allocate resources
Identify and assist in solving issues (both with the tool, as well with the resources)
Continuously improve existing processes and mechanisms
Release Management
Define, manage and enforce gating process for monthly releases to determine which initiatives' work is ready for inclusion in the release
Schedule, plan, and control delivery process through monthly releases.
Be accountable for ensuring that all gates dictated by external clients, auditors and internal policies are in place and adhered to
Identify and assist in resolving issues related to dependencies, resource gaps, etc.
Actively support release activities once every 2 months (weekend overnights)
What you'll need:
Analytical, detail-oriented
Strong process orientation
Leadership, strong sense of ownership, excellence, does not need to be told what to do (after initial rampup)
Strong foundational knowledge of basic enterprise technology concepts. This role is more governance focused, but comprehension of technical context is necessary.
Very familiar (Expert level) with Excel, SharePoint, ServiceNow
Strong understanding of agile concepts
Experience working in a large organization (LOBs vs. Shared Services)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
ITIL or PMI certifications a plus
