Responsibilities

Position Purpose: The Securities Operations team is responsible for processing and managing operations relating to Equity and Fixed Income custody and settlements.

 

Primary duties will include:

Daily BAU (60%)

  • Day-to-day operational processing and month-end special handling
  • Discrepancy resolution arising from unmatched settlement or any internal/external disputes
  • Accurate and timely reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop full understanding of front-to-back trade and settlement processes in the relevant markets and process(es) he/she is handling
  • Cross train and cover team members as and when required

Change/Re-engineering (40%)

  • Active engagement in ongoing tactical and strategic projects and change management
  • Maintain procedures current with markets and regulatory requirements
  • Constantly review and analysis to improve processes, increase efficiency, and contribute to the overall profitability of the desks you support

 

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • A good understanding of Securities markets, systems and process workflows
  • Strong knowledge of the key risk areas of the functions and its relevant controls
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in Securities Operations. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with wholesale financial markets, products and clearing house and settlement venue mechanisms
  • Knowledge on industry-wide operational platforms such as CTM and Omgeo Alert is a plus
  • Good knowledge and practice of Office Suite. Excel VBA and SQL knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholder communication
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis
