Job Description:
The Senior Governance Associate provides hands-on expertise for a diverse set of governance projects including but not limited to regulatory audit assistance, user certification assistance, human security assistance, policy assistance and vendor risk management.
This position will learn all aspects of Governance at Blackstone and seek to manage and improve the status quo to ensure that Blackstone always maintains compliance with its regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities:
Learn and support the compliance activities at Blackstone. Understand the IT controls and evidence required to support those controls. Be able to assist BXTI employees in understanding the importance and requirements of those controls.
Lead policy management to ensure that all policies are up to date, reviewed annually, relevant, and available to applicable parties.
Ability to understand auditor expectations and develop pre-reviews of various audit topics to ensure BX compliance with policy and expectations.
Learn and lead the management of user certifications which includes kick off certifications, management of those certifications including follow up to completion and verification of removal of access where required.
Understand IT risks in order to translate BXTI policy into Key Performance Indicators and help subject matter experts design and manage policy.
Create and maintain positive relationships with other Blackstone compliance stakeholders. The ability to effectively communicate BXTI risks to Blackstone business personnel at all levels.
Understand and be able to support the Human Security Program at Blackstone.
Learn and support the vendor risk management process and be able to assist in completing vendor reviews in both Blackstone tools, assist with the completion of reports and assess risks identified.
Understand and operate in an agile environment.
Qualifications:
3+ years in a hands-on technical role in information security
Hands-on experience with compliance, policy, IT Audit, VRM and IAM
Have a strong understanding of risk in financial services and IT
Possess the knowledge of Information Security best practices
Desire to learn new technologies, share best practices, and contribute to the broader shared knowledge of a global infrastructure and security team
Ability to self-organize, prioritize activities independently, create documentation and reporting
Prior experience interfacing with business and technology stakeholders
Prior experience with GRC tools such as SNOW, JIRA, HyperProof or equivalent
An ability to manage stakeholder expectations in the delivery of projects
Enables creative solutions by stimulating ideas through discussion and collaboration
Manage uncertainty well – can assess and act with good enough but imperfect or incomplete information
Possess strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical individuals at any level
Have at least one active security or compliance certification: CISA, CISM, CISSP or related

Expected annual base salary range:
$95,000 - $160,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
