As a Technical Support Engineer for Principal Trading, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to banks and trading firms using our advanced trading software. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with colleagues and clients to solve complex problems, assisting with system setup and configuration, and identifying tailored solutions to meet our clients' trading requirements.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting potential issues that customers may encounter while operating our sophisticated trading system. In this role, you will act as a liaison between customers, developers, and product managers, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to fast-paced, high-tech trading environments, working with various product types and exchanges.
We are seeking candidates with a strong interest in financial markets, coupled with solid IT skills. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide support via email, phone, and on the trading floor, assisting with technical troubleshooting, network analysis, and collaborating directly with end users to address functional requirements such as risk and pricing.
You will work closely with traders and first-line support staff, actively monitoring market changes and proactively addressing client needs. This role will require frequent interaction with colleagues across Europe, Asia, and America, with occasional travel as needed.
· Provide ad-hoc technical support to customers through phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
· Manage a client portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery of excellent customer service.
· Collaborate with designated clients to implement key functionalities, facilitating the adoption of product features to achieve business goals.
· Act as the interface between end users and Broadridge's Engineering team, liaising on faults that require code changes.
· Occasionally visit Nordic-based customers, including trading floors and technical staff.
· Optimize customer usage of Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS) products through training, tuning, and consultancy.
· Maintain expert knowledge of BTCS Trading products and services through training and self-study.
· Enhance BTCS products to meet customer needs, such as developing trading strategies, custom pricing models, and integrating with third-party systems.
· Perform Tbricks system back-end upgrades using the command-line interface on Red Hat.
· Enter case information into our tools to ensure effective resolution management.
· Collaborate closely with the Sales team to identify new opportunities within existing client relationships.
· A strong passion for learning, with a willingness to acquire new skills.
· Motivated and capable of working effectively within a team.
· Proficiency in Linux command-line utilities.
· Nice to have: experience with Unix shell scripting (bash, python, etc.).
· Familiarity with networking, including basic topology, troubleshooting, and understanding of UDP/TCP stack.
· An interest in finance and electronic trading solutions.
· Demonstrated ability in complex problem-solving.
· Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
