Data Analyst  in our office in Amman 

As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for the multitude of datasets produced by Equiti and translate the data to produce informed analysis to stakeholders, either in report format, Power BI dashboards or in-depth analysis. They will interrogate results to ensure accuracy in reported figures and provide commentary on results where needed. 

Responsibilities 

  • Partner with a cross-section of the company including Strategy, Product, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, Trading, Finance and Compliance, to answer high-level business questions and gain insights from the data you help to collect and manage 

  • Identify and apply statistical and advanced analytical methods with customer teams, enabling action-orientated results 

  • Participate in planning sessions with key stakeholders, working with them to understand the business need and then developing actionable insights through the translation of requirements into technical deliverables 

  • Leverage Big Data to answer strategic questions posed by the business 

  • Apply best practice data and analytical governance to your work 

  • Be accountable for all reporting related to regulatory or financial filings 

  • Perform reconciliations to ensure all data aligns and provides comfort in the analysis’ findings 

  • Design and create interactive and meaningful visualizations, dashboards, and reports using a combination of visualisations, graphs and written summaries to effectively communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders 

  • Develop and maintain dynamic reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to business users, executives, and other relevant teams 

  • Create and optimize data models in Power BI to support advanced analytics, calculations, and aggregations for efficient data processing 

  • Integrate and clean data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, spreadsheets, and flat files, to identify trends, patterns and insights 

  • Optimize report and dashboard performance to ensure quick and responsive user experiences 

  • Adhere to data governance and security standards, ensuring data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Analytical and critical thinker

  • Ability to turn requirements into clear deliverables and measurable outcomes 

  • Understanding of how to add context to analytical results  

Experience Requirements             

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft PowerBI 

  • Experience dealing with Data Analysis using Python or R 

  • Significant experience writing complex SQL queries 

  • Industry experience in Financial Services or FinTech with experience in leveraged trading preferable 

  • Understanding of analytical best practices 

  •  (BA/BSc or equivalent), with preference being in a numerate discipline or have compensating experience 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), M Query language, and Power Query. Familiarity with SQL for data manipulation and retrieval
