Junior Quant Analyst in our office in London

The Quant Team is one of Equiti’s newest department and is already having a huge impact. The Quant Team design and test trading algorithms and analyze clients trades for patterns. The objective of the Quant Team is to make efficiencies from existing trades and make existing products more appealing to clients. 

Responsibilities 

• Analyzing the trading desk performance and back testing hedging strategies. 
• Accountable for parts of the Firm’s Price Engine and market-making tools. 
• Monitoring the pricing for the Firm, including price filters and primary, back up and benchmark price streams. 
• Working with liquidity management to develop trade decay tools and spread monitoring tools. 
• Working with Front Office to ensure the customer experience is maintained at a high level. 
• Analyzing financial data to identify trading trends and patterns. 
• Building models to forecast financial performance. 
• Creating and maintaining daily, weekly, monthly reports across the department. 
• Facilitating ad-hoc requests from management regarding pricing and products. 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams within Trade Ops to identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics to improve business outcomes. 
• Designing, testing and updating algorithms used for hedging and hedging routes to exchanges. 
• Designing and launching of new instruments for clients. 
• Analysis of the trading desk performance and back testing hedging strategies. 
• Developing trade decay tools and spread monitoring tools. 
• Weekly and monthly customer service metrics and MI. 
• Building ad-hoc data sets for investigations and facilitate management requests. 

Skills & Competencies 

• Strong data analysis and excel skills 
• Advanced programming skills in Python 
• Strong understanding of databases including MySQL and queries 
• Understanding and keen interest in trading and the financial markets 
• Analytical mindset, with inquisitive nature 

Experience Requirements 

• Minimum 1 year of experience in either CFD/FX business, Quantitative role or Data Analysis role 
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science or a mathematical subject (with demonstrated modules in Data/Computer Science) 
• Good to have Experience of MT4 / 5 trading platforms and bridges/gateways
