Broadridge is hiring a Senior Sybase Database Administrator to join the Database Engineering team. This opportunity will enable the database administrator to immerse into the Broadridge culture and have exposure to various Broadridge products that are customer facing. As data is the lifeline of our organization, the database administrator’s technical expertise will be valuable so that our databases are performant, secure, and recoverable. Senior Database Administrators will build environments based on standards and best practices that would align to operational and business requirements. They will perform all database administration tasks and should be well versed with database features, utilities, and recovery procedures. They are the subject matter experts for database products and will be relied upon to ensure that the databases are installed and configured to meet application requirements. They would need to collaborate with application teams to tune SQL to ensure minimal resource consumption and optimal throughput. They would participate in continuous process improvement throughout the SDLC by creating scripts and procedures to increase the speed of delivery. They continuously review capacity and predictive reports to efficiently allocate system resources. They possess knowledge of AWS/Cloud technologies to participate in the cloud journey. They participate in on-call duties and are expected to provide senior level expertise in the resolution of database issues. They communicate with vendors and collaborate with Broadridge support groups to articulate database issues and drive the resolution process. They proactively take corrective measures and have a high sense of ownership and accountability.
