The MySQL Sr. DBA will work across the development, client implementation, and client support teams and be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances for our enterprise portfolio management and investment accounting platform in support of clients, including buy-side institutional investment plans, asset managers, wealth managers, portfolio managers, investment trading professionals, and accounting professionals. The candidate will be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances.  Additional responsibilities will include working in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.  We are looking for a well-rounded senior database administrator who works well in a development team using iterative development methodologies to create robust, high-quality production systems.

  • Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
  • Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Participate in ongoing Disaster Recovery project to upgrade current DR systems
  • Prepare documentations and specifications
  • Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Support movement of data for QA and UAT purposes.
  • Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Assists the development team with all aspects of software design and T-SQL coding.
  • Learn the business aspects, attend design meetings, design or update data structures, and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Contributes technical solutions for software development projects.
  • Provides estimates of all priority and non-priority projects along with recommended scope or schedule changes. based on capacity and unforeseen challenges.
  • Identifies potential issues while staying focused on identified priorities.
  • Collaborates with peers to deliver high quality work by established deadlines.
  • Must be able to work US Eastern Time Zone hours.
