Job Purpose:  The Corporate Counsel will work across all aspects of the legal function, including customer and vendor contract management, contract negotiation, customer compliance requests, and general in-house legal advice. The Corporate counsel will liaise with our existing outside counsel as needed.

 

Duties:

  • Drafting and negotiating agreements with customers and vendors.
  • Establishing and maintaining processes for contract lifecycle management.
  • Working with existing outside counsel, developing new contract templates as needed.
  • Working with other teams to satisfy occasional compliance requests from customers.
  • Building scalable processes to enable growth of our internal legal function over time.
  • Manage the day-to-day activity of the Legal Team.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess a JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Corporate law, either in-house or at a law firm.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), and a demonstrated ability to work across teams and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to make recommendations aligned with core business strategies, exercising sound judgement and based on the principles of law and corporate policy.
  • Background in establishing/maintaining document management processes.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Member of state bar and eligible to register as in-house counsel in Massachusetts
